Силікони — це кисневмісні високомолекулярні кремнійорганічні сполуки. Кремній — це проста речовина. Кремній використовують як напівпровідник у виробництві мікропроцесорів. Силікон англійською — silicone, а кремній — silicon. Через схожість двох слів українською Кремнієву долину (Silicon Valley) часто називають «силіконовою». Це помилка. Ніколи не зайве про це нагадати. Тим паче що на уроці мова піде саме про героїв Кремнієвої долини і про те, як вони прагнули до своєї Американської мрії.
